When solar power & grid power both are available, it takes full 12 amp charging current from solar panel to charge the battery depending on solar panal current. In case solar current available is less than 12 amp then its takes balance power from the mains.

Only when there is no solar power, then it will take 12 amp from the mains. However in case of power cut during day time when solar is present the 12 amp load will be taken the solar panel and the rest of the load will run on battery, thereby increasing the backup time.

So can you can save some money on your electric bill maximizing the uses of solar power.

If installed as additional Inverter for home, solar power would be very helpful during frequent power cuts where minimum required power for charging the battery is not available from grid.

Generally grid power is available in night to domestic user & power is absent during peak hour.
